Garmin Express is not a browser application or mobile app. It must be installed on a supported Windows or Mac computer, and most device-management tasks require a physical USB data connection.

Garmin Express does not run on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone. Mobile workflows usually use Garmin Connect or another device-specific Garmin app.
Windows system requirements explained
Windows 11 satisfies the current requirement because Garmin states Windows 10 or newer. Garmin also lists Microsoft .NET 4.7.2 as included, so the current EXE normally handles that dependency during setup.
Windows 8 and older are outside the current requirement. Garmin's page links a version 7 legacy installer, but legacy software should be used only when the computer cannot be upgraded and the device task still requires Express.

Garmin currently writes OS X 13.0 or newer on its page. In Apple's current naming, users should interpret this as macOS 13 Ventura or newer. Check the major version in Apple menu → About This Mac before downloading.
An older Intel or Apple silicon Mac may still open a legacy DMG, but the processor alone does not determine support. The installed macOS version, USB connectivity and Garmin device support status all matter.
USB-C-only Macs can use an adapter, dock or direct USB-C cable when it supports data. During troubleshooting, remove unnecessary hubs and connect as directly as the Mac allows so power, cable and port variables are easier to isolate.

Metered mobile connections are a poor fit for large maps even when they appear fast. Check data caps and available bandwidth, close other large downloads and keep the computer awake. The USB device should remain powered and stationary until Express explicitly confirms completion.
